Brunette Tapestry

I started this album in 2017. With a bunch of rough guitar references and off beat drum samples that I wanted to use. After making ‘ taste.ful’ I wanted to create something that reminded me of ‘Bad Vibes’ by Shlohmo. I really loved how he had atmospheric sounds, weird drum loops, real bass guitar and just an overall chill vibe. Usually my albums are directly inspired by something i’m heavily listening to in that moment. I like to recreate my own version of what I like to listen too. I feel like in that space you can create something new. Brunette Tapestry was also inspired by feelings and thoughts that I had during relationships that i’ve had with women that are or once Brunettes. The song ‘sucked in’ was about me obsessively getting into a relationship that know one new about. Parts of me were feeling all over the place about it but somewhere deep down I felt like it was something that I should be doing. I really enjoy the song ‘toxic’ because the instrumentals and the backwards, grindy-ish samples really replicated how it feels to be in a toxic situation. This song wasn’t about one particular person but more so about you repeating behaviors in a situation that doesn’t benefit anybody. I soon came to realize that I was toxic. It was a hard pill to swallow but it comes with growth and I became a better person from it. One of my favorite tracks ‘ferris wheel’, is a fun, trippy, appregiated song. It represented the fun parts of a relationship that I miss very much. Everyday was an adventure. Just you and the person against the world. Nothing else mattered. Just like a kid, everything was about having a good time. I love you for coming this far and reading it. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
